FAQ

1 Q: Can I bring my pet’s own food?
A: Yes, with no extra charge, but please bring the daily amount of food your pet will need for each feeding of their stay at Daltons in disposable, resealable plastic baggies with specific feeding instructions and your pet’s name clearly marked.
(Example: 5 days at one feeding per day = 5 bags; 2 feedings per day = 10 bags)

2 Q: Will my pet have to stay outdoors all day?
A: No, your pet can stay indoors if it chooses. Dogs know how to communicate their likes or dislikes and our staff will be able to tell what he or she wants.

3 Q: Can I cancel my reservation?
A: Yes you may, but we require a 48-hour notice for nonholiday periods and a 7-day notice for all holiday reservations. Any changes in reservations including early check-out, without required notification, are subject to charges.

4 Q: Can I bring my pet’s special toy or blanket?
A: Yes you may, but Daltons cannot guarantee the condition or return of any items left with your pet during their stay.

5 Q: Can i bring bedding for my pet?
A: We are dedicated to offering our guests a delightful experience, which includes providing clean, cozy bedding that they thoroughly enjoy. However, please be aware that there will be an additional charge for laundering the bedding.

6 Q: What happens if my pet needs emergency care?
A: In the unlikely event it happens, we first try to contact you to inform you of the situation while readying your pet for the trip to Tufts Animal Hospital, a 10-minute ride away. Once there, a Vet will try to contact you to advise you of the situation and how to proceed. If unable to reach you, Dalton’s will use their credit card to start the emergency treatment and you will be responsible for all costs incurred.

7 Q: At times after boarding my pet comes home very thirsty, is this normal?
A: Some pets exhibit acute thirst upon returning home. This is due to the excitement of arriving at home. Do not permit free access to unlimited water for the first two or three hours at home. Only small quantities should be given. Excessive water may produce vomiting and diarrhea.

8 Q: Why is exercise important for pets?
A: Exercise is crucial for pets as it helps them stay happy, tired, and mentally stimulated, just like us. It’s highly recommended by veterinarians, who suggest 6-month booster shots to maintain their well-being.
