It all started in Grafton Ma. in 1962. Like so many pioneers in their respective fields, Dorothy Dalton is self-taught, learning from experience and the love of animals. Unknowingly Dorothy began her career by grooming her own miniature poodle. Soon she was grooming her friend’s and neighbors’ pets.

The response was so overwhelming the Daltons converted their garage into a full-service grooming facility. As the years progressed so did business and she expanded her service locations to include:

“Daltons Webster Sq. Dog Shoppe” of Worcester, Ma.
“Daltons School of Dog Grooming” Shrewsbury and Cambridge Ma. (one of the first of its kind in the country)
“Daltons Cherrywood Kennel” of Shrewsbury, Ma.
“The Pampered Pet” of Stuart, Florida
“Bayshore Pet Grooming” of Port St. Lucie, Florida celebrating 40 years in business.

Mrs. Dalton currently splits her time between Shrewsbury and Florida. While in Shrewsbury, she, along with her highly trained and dedicated staff, takes an active role as a hands-on owner. With 60 years of experience, they operate the longest-established and most reputable grooming and boarding facility for cats and dogs in the metro west area.

As a successful breeder of multiple miniature and standard Poodle champions; Mrs. Dalton is a highly respected International Dog Show Judge for the American Kennel Club, judging the Toy, Non-Sporting Groups and Best in Show brings to her clients a lifetime of experience with a wealth of knowledge in the understanding of the love and needs of all the pets in her care.

Mrs. Dalton and her staff are dedicated professionals assuring compassionate professional care for all animals and also providing education to all responsible pet owners who wish to seek it. The cycle has come full circle at Daltons Cherrywood Kennel. We are now caring for many second and third-generation clients who have followed their parent’s and grandparents footsteps and come with their children to seek the very same high level of care and service for their beloved pets.
